Palm inventory for Timberline Inventory is designed to release the inventory store manager from his workstation. The palm device, particularly when implemented with a barcode scanner makes the issuing of supplies to jobs and equipment simple and accurate.
Palm inventory is designed to perform 2 significant functions in the inventory store. The most important is the day to day recording of inventory issues to jobs and equipment. These issues are automatically added into the Timberline Inventory issues batches when the palm is synchronized. The barcode scanner, if installed, will scan barcodes for Jobs, Items, Equipment, Cost codes and Categories and correctly record them in the appropriate fields on the Palm device.

The second function that Palm Inventory is designed to perform is the recording of physical counts. Items can either be chosen from a list or scanned using a barcode scanner and the quantities counted are then recorded. These counts are then uploaded to the physical count functions available in Timberline Inventory when the Palm is synchronized.
When Palm Inventory is installed an additional utility is added to the Timberline Inventory tools menu that allows the production of barcodes. There is also a Code 128 Barcode font included on the Timberline PO/IV CD so there is no need to purchase anything additional.
